SSAFA  provides support for the serving men and women in today’s Armed Forces and for those who have served - even if it was only for a single day. We also care for the needs of their families and dependants. I am a trained SSAFA Welfare Caseworker    I have my own patch in Broadlands (Norfolk), Great Yarmouth and Gorleston I can however initiate cases in ANY area where AFSC members are. If any of our AFSC members have problems my job would be to contact that area caseworker where they live and together we would attempt immediately to address the problems and get help. My work is not all about finance. It's about help for the wife of / husband of the serving or ex serving serviceman or woman. It's about getting help for the kids. It's about getting short term accommodation in cases of need. It's about looking at respite care or short holidays. It's about looking at mental, sociological and physiological problems and trying to address them. IT'S ABOUT LOTS OF THINGS!!!! I am 'on call' 24/7 so any AFSC can call me at ANY TIME!!!
