Sunday morning 27th July 08 we leave
Gt Yarmouth on scooters for a ride out to meet up with the motor cycles at
Norwich. I personally had not done this run before so i didn't really know what
to expect what with 30 or 40 scooters and around 1100 bikes all in the same car
park what could possibly happen? Well what happened was it turned out to be one
if not the best ride out i have ever done in my 30 years of scootering. From the
AFSC was myself
and Dave mc coulough [flint] and ian burnett [yogi] or better known as statler
and waldorf from the Muppet show. Well it was decided that we the scooters were
going to lead this parade of 1200 who decided this? I am not sure but it was
probley an who dares wins situ and we went for the start line an got in 1st.The
chequered flag went down an we was off an running it's great that blue smoke
when you're at the front. All along the A47 towards Acle and on to Gt Yarmouth
and then on to Lowestoft there were people cheering and waving standing on
bridges in lay-by's and all along the road side. We finally finished at the
royal green in Lowestoft in excess of £12,000 was raised for the A an E James
Paget Hospital a fantastic day out followed by a few pints [about 10 actually]
and some of Daves Mc Couloughs war stories he reckons when he joined the army
they didn't have no's coz they all knew each other. This cavalcade is run every
year so if you fancy a run next time i will put it up on the
AFSC site .Statler and
waldorf have well an truly got the scootering bug and are now planning the trip
to Belgium in sept and have insisted that i go with them so what could i say? so
see you on the run.
