NORTHERN PEARL CUSTOM SHOW

HAMBURG 2004
Has it really been a year since The Northern Pearl 2003? This year we decided not to enter any of our scooters, a number of reasons for this: Dia and Elian were back in the UK visiting and we have a number of scooters still to be finished! I think we should enter all the Germany based AFSC members scooters in a show as a group/club entry? (Thoughts in the guestbook please) Any way back to the plot, the usual suspects were present both of the Brit and German contingencies with a rather healthy smattering of new AFSC members from the German forces joining the club.

My weekend started when I arrived in Fally at Steve Evans house who was there with Briller from Bielefeld. Ten mins after my arrival we were joined by Craig Balantine who was taking a break from unpacking boxes from his recent move to Fally from Senneleger.

Meeting at the Custom Show was Ian and Lisa, just back from India! (lucky sods!) Mick and Nutty arrived along with Simon and his family. The plan for some was to see the show and have a beer, the other half intended to have a beer and stay for the Nighter.
Lisa (pre drunk) Mick n Simon well drunk! "The only time I will ever put my arm around a Bremen fan!" Nutty Nico, Simon and Marcus
Borgo had done what he does best, acting as liaison and translator! Borgo massive thanks from all of us mate! The arrangement as last year was to join Nicko of The Speed Demons for a meal at his little farm house. This year we were joined by some of The Lambretta Club of London boys. The food and hospitality were exellent and I must once again thank Borgo and Nicko for putting up with us.

The actual custom show was a little disappointing this year, the organisers had opted for a bigger room but this seamed to "swallow" the scooters on display and left you with a "is that it?" impression. I know it sounds a little unfair, but the venue wasn't quite right, my own opinion remember "comments in the guestbook please" I did feel a little sad for the large group of Brits who traveled over for this event, will they come again next year? We will have to wait and see! The Allnighter didn't work as well as it deserved, not for the lack of good DJ's. Both Sunny and Champ were belting out some top quality movers, no doubt inspired by the previous Wuppertal Nighter. The organisers had chosen to go from a warehouse size room for the custom show to a outhouse size room for the Nighter, did they get it the wrong way round? "again comments in the guestbook please"
Big ello to Alan from the Speed Demons SC and Donna.
Tony Higgs an all the cheeky Cockneys from the London Village Lammy club boys: Peter (Do ya want a race wiv me 240) Kent Steve (oooh, this bra is chaffing) Bone, I'll race you to India was my fave of the week end plus Arthur Francis being a big black bloke! Exellent giggles!!
The up side of the weekend was the socialising! It was like a little Holiday in Holland reunion complete with Tracy, Mrs Sticky being press ganged into wearing one of our club t-shirts! Lots of beer drank, new friends made, old friends met, giggles and the usual scootering patter that befits drunkard Scooterists! The question must be did you enjoy it? And will you go back? I don't think the Northern Pearl got it right this year, but hey! All the faces were there and the beer was cold :-)
